what is involved in putting grass into a paved courtyard
l wanna put grass into my courtyard. to do that, we wanted to knock out the
tiles, but we arnt sure how much concrete there is under there! is it
possible to put some soil straight onto the paving stones and then put the
grass straight on top? also, is it possible to knock the tiles
out ourselves?
is it paved or concrete? if it is concrete it maybe about 4to6
in. thick not as thick as a foundation because it dont hold as much
weight. this area is just for walking so not much weight is stressed on
this area. you can remove all of the area, crack up the concrete add top
soil then grass. remember if you just crack it up with out removing it,
it may become hot in the summer & cook the grass which would die, or water
alot. just have to watch this area if you cut corners & just plant grass.
there is a tool just for that you can rent at home depot like a
drill hammer or something, if you add soil to the tiles more than likely it
will flood. you have to get the cement / tiles out of there
